Our Approach to Learning

We want every child to feel confident, included and ready to succeed. Our curriculum builds knowledge step by step and celebrates the diversity of our school community. It is shaped by two key ideas: a strong focus on reading and our commitment to being a Force for Positive Change. We work closely with families so they understand what their children are learning and how they can support learning at home. Together, we help children grow in confidence, curiosity, ambition and pride, preparing them well for future opportunities and success.

What the children are learning in the classroom

As a parent, you play an important role in your child’s education. It’s essential for you to understand what your child is learning in class in order to support their academic growth and success. That’s where our curriculum resources come in.

On this page, you will find detailed information for each half term and the subject areas that your child is studying. You will have access to the learning goals and the topics that will be covered. This information is designed to give you a clear understanding of what your child will be learning in class and how you can support their learning at home.

We understand that every child is unique and may have different learning needs. If you ever have any concerns or questions about your child’s education, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teacher. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Curriculum Resources page. We hope that you find the information here helpful and informative.

National Curriculum Subjects

Our curriculum follows the National Curriculum and ensures pupils gain the knowledge, vocabulary and skills they need across every subject.

We’ve carefully planned how learning builds over time — starting in Nursery and progressing through to Year 6 – so that each year strengthens and deepens what came before.

Every subject has its own progression map, helping teachers make strong links between topics and support every child to move forward confidently in their learning.
